RG Madden recently launched its newest store in Carlton. Carlton is a hugely progressive and diverse location so it seems appropriate that we should be in the mix of such a vibrant scene. However come see for yourself, and introduce yourself to the lovely Edward!

Australia is a nation whose design credentials are improving rapidly on the world stage. Susan Cohn led the way for many Australian designers – her 1990 Cohncave Bowl being the first Australian design collaboration with the chic Italian firm Alessi, and then again a second collaboration in 1995 with her Cohndom box. Other Australian’s to follow in Susan’s footsteps include Marc Newson, Steven Blaess, Denton Corker Marshall and Lisa Maree Vincitorio.
And now we can add the most recent collaboration between a local talent and Alessi – Abi Alice’s Ressonance bowl.

Legno translated into English means wood. Ironically Legnoart’s new range is bamboo, a grass, which is renowned for being an environmentally friendly and renewable resource.
Legnoart’s signature is its discrete elegance, impeccable function and profound uniqueness. Founded in 1946 and based in Omegna, Italy, Legnoart graces the benches, tables and cellars of many stylish houses across Europe and the US, and is now in Australia at RG Madden.

Often overlooked when traveling is the early morning. I was in Paris in January and an early morning appointment ‘forced’ me out – it was lovely, almost private! It is a city that you do not see at any other time.
